The annual Thames Centre Pride Festival was held on Sunday, July 5, at Dorchester Community Park.
The rain did not keep anyone away, and the scheduled free activities were everywhere.

There were rock painting, chalk drawing, a bouncy castle, and wonderful caricatures.

Entertainment was provided by Dance in Dorchester with JNS Dance and guitarist-vocalist Greg Lirette.

Presentations were made by Susan Clarke, Middlesex County Warden; Mayor of Adelaide Metcafe; and the Thames Centre Pride Committee Chair; Katy D’Angelo, Chair of Thames Centre Accessibility and Inclusivity Advisory Committee; Thames Centre Deputy Mayor, Michelle Smibert; and journalist Shauna Rae.

“Pride is the promotion of self-affirmation, equality and dignity for every type of sexual orientation. It celebrates equal rights and is a movement against shame and social stigma.”
